Peter Duthaler is an associated partner of mas with core competencies in contracting, risk management, process improvement, contract education and M&A in the IT environment. Independently from mas he has supported since 2007 a broad range of Swiss and international customers in the context of his own consulting firm Peter Duthaler GmbH.
Previously Peter worked for many years at IBM, where he built up and led the Swiss Services Contract department and negotiated many major contracts with leading Swiss and worldwide customers from all industries in the areas of Systems Integration, IT and Business Transaction Outsourcing, as well as corporate software and hardware sourcing. He successfully settled a large number of contractual disputes and critical IT project situations through skilled negotiation and mediation. In addition, Peter made a substantial contribution to the definition and implementation of the process management systems of IBM Switzerland and IBM Europe, including their ISO9000 certification.
Prior to specialising in IT contract management, Peter acquired comprehensive knowledge and experience in the IT business, across the board from programming to marketing.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Basel, complemented by numerous technical, commercial and legal seminars and certificates.
